From a laudable zeal for the true interest of his Country, was candidate to represent this Borough in Parliament, at the last General Election, in which attempt he was unsuccessful. In private life he was truly amiable, a sincere friend, a kind master, and an indulgent landlord. His generous hospitality and charity to the poor, was equalled by few, surpassed by none.
